Less then 1 km away form Barbariga there is a small village of Betiga, where you can find couple of family restaurants with characteristic Istrian food. Istrian cuisine is healthy and diverse. Culinary experts regard "maneštra" as the queen of rural Istrian cuisine. This is a thick soup prepared with beans and potatoes. Other ingredients are usually added - barley, chickpeas, fennel, sauerkraut in winter and young corn in summer.
